Early life
Shafia was born in 1969 or 1970 to Georgia and Hass Shafia (d.
2023).[1][2] Shafia's mother, who is Ashkenazi Jewish, grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,[1] and is president of a Philadelphia-based building maintenance company.[3] Her father was born in a Muslim family in Iran.
